Safer schools and the road

Dear parents and carers,

I am sure you are all aware of the traffic issues outside of our school and the campaign headed by Stacey Florish and the school in gaining attention from the council to help with the issues before an accident occurs.  There have been a number of actions behind the scenes, each trying to raise the profile of the serious issue we face as a community of Thames View Juniors. One of these actions has been Stacey’s persistence with our local MP, Margaret Hodge, to help with our campaign.  Stacey has managed to get an audience with Margaret Hodge and the local authority to help with a way forward.  This will be a community meeting either at a central place or via a virtual meeting. Either way, it is crucial that we involve as many of you as we can to help ensure the profile of this issue is heard.

Stacey will be hearing from Margaret, possibly at some point before we return in January with a date and venue.  The school will be happy to update parents and carers on this, however if it falls within the period where the school is closed this will prove more difficult. Because of this, Stacey has made it clear that you are all welcome to contact her via email for any updates relating to the meeting.

Please do take this opportunity to show your support in this venture as it will ensure even further safeguarding of your children.

Stacey’s email is: staceyflorish@hotmail.com

If we hear anything before we break up, we will let parents and carers know. Thank you to all of our community and especially Stacey Florish for the continued support.

Kind regards,
Mr Jacob
